Different Standard Tensile Strength  for different  width cable ties .

2.5mm width: Min.Tensile Strength 80N /18ibs /8kg

3.6mm width: Min.Tensile Strength 180N /42ibs/ 18kg

4.8mm width: Min.Tensile Strength 222N /50ibs /22kg

7.6mm width: Min.Tensile Strength 560N /130ibs /57kg

9.0mm width: Min.Tensile Strength 778N /175ibs/ 79kg

12.4mm width: Min.Tensile Strength 1140N/ 250ibs /116kg

How to test how much force the cable tie can withstand?

1. Tensile Strength Tester

Start the machine, adjust it to a suitable level according different sizes, reset the data, start, the data will gradually increase with the machine straightening.

It will stop increasing until the cable tie is broken. You can know whether the cable tie’s tensile strength is qualified or not.

2. Test the pull with your hand

Test the tensile strength of the cable tie by hand. As you know ,for example 2.5mm width tensile strength is 8kg,3.6mm with is 18kg. A common man can easily pull and make it broken.

We do not recommend doing this, so as not to cause damage to your hands.

What are the main factors that affect the tensile strength of cable ties?

1. Water content and Humidity Absorption

As you know cable tie are water absorption  product, common Humidity Absorption is around 2,7%-2,8% (23°C -50% R.H.),we have to control the rate.

2. Weather related

Regular Nylon 6.6 Working Temperature :-40°C ~+85°C,if you want to sustainable to be used in high&low temperature environment need to add special additives to customized.

3. Storage environment.

Protection from rain and direct sunlight, the temperature is controlled at 5-45°C (-5-45°C in cold regions), and the relative humidity is 30-90%, so as to prevent the product from losing moisture or being damp and making it hard and tensile have changed and cannot be used normally.

The more water absorbed by nylon cable ties, the softer the cable ties will be, and the tension will be smaller, which will easily cause anti-tooth phenomeno.
